Buyer/Planner
About the role
The Buyer/Planner role is based fully onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord office. This position is crucial for managing the supply chain, balancing inventory, and supporting customer demand.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and release production orders and purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery to customers while minimizing inventory and operational costs.
- Data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand, including creating production schedules and job order priorities.
- Review, update, and maintain replenishment systems, establishing and maintaining cost reduction, lead time reduction, and inventory reduction programs with suppliers to support company goals.
- Communicate with engineering and quality assurance to interpret and establish technical requirements.
- Collaborate with shop floor management daily to resolve manufacturing efficiency issues and provide requested information to manufacturing and customer service teams.
- Actively support the implementation of Regal’s Business System/Lean manufacturing processes.
- Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, or materials planning within a manufacturing setting.
- Working knowledge of replenishment systems such as Kanban, visual management, or similar inventory control methods.
- Experience using SAP or a comparable ERP system.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and related business systems.
- APICS/ASCM certification or related supply chain certification is a plus.
