About the Role
The Buyer / Planner reviews, schedules, and coordinates work orders based on capacity and material availability to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities
- Plan, purchase, and schedule production activities to ensure on-time delivery, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.
- Release purchase orders, manage supply chain activities, and coordinate with suppliers, including reading drawings and communicating component specifications.
- Use ERP systems like MAPICS/AS400, and tools such as MRD and Kanban, to optimize production flow and inventory levels.
- Update schedules, report supply chain status, and address delivery deviations.
- Process ECNs, manage MRB items, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- 5+ years in manufacturing planning, buying, and inventory control.
- Bachelor’s degree required; APICS/CPIM certification preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills, including Excel proficiency.
- Adaptability to changing environments and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks in a production environment.
