Position Summary
Manage Parker procurement of materials and services to support quality, delivery, and cost requirements. Apply basic purchasing principles, theories, and concepts. Ensure timely acquisitions from known suppliers. Plan, schedule, and monitor production capacity to achieve on-time deliveries. Resolve issues related to requisition accuracy, on-time delivery, and supplier payments. Maximize inventory turns while minimizing freight, quality, and lead time costs.
Responsibilities
- Purchase parts, equipment, and materials by preparing RFOs and submitting POs with approved suppliers.
- Plan, schedule, and manage production capacity to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain accuracy of open POs, quotes, work orders, and part master data.
- Maintain accurate lead times for assigned commodities.
- Monitor and evaluate production execution and supplier performance.
- Resolve shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier and manufacturing issues.
- Facilitate the resolution of issues by arranging and participating in conferences with suppliers and company personnel.
- Negotiate and settle damage claims, rejections, losses, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes with suppliers.
- Provide parts, equipment, and materials information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain schedules, records, and reports pertaining to the tracking of materials through the production cycle and availability of production resources.
- Assist in executing necessary system transactions for material receipt, storage, and transfer.
- Responsible for inventory levels and generates tracking reports as required.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities and provides suggestions for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Identifies and researches prospective suppliers.
- Completes supplier site visits and evaluates them based on production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria.
- Complies with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations; ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.
- Complies with Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM) policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant discipline.
- Experience and/or exposure to supply chain concepts and methodologies, including internships or training programs.
- Intermediate computer skills and ability to understand electronic processing.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Innovative mindset and willingness to embrace lean enterprise principles and practices.
- Regular attendance, cooperative and professional interaction with others and members of the public, and ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
