Buyer/Planner

Duties & Responsibilities

• Evaluate items for cost competiveness.
• Establish and maintain cost reduction programs.
• Recommend new sources and suppliers.
• Negotiate blanket purchase contracts with new and existing suppliers.
• Interact with a diverse group of suppliers regarding quality discrepancies, requisitions, and PO variances.
• Plan, modify, and reschedule purchase orders according to production schedules.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials.
• Aids in producing and scheduling production runs based on product demands.
• Maintain the schedule and actively communicate changes to production team on a routine basis.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner.
• High School or some college.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) ability.
• Comfortable working under the pressure of time constraints.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a well balanced presence.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Able to work on own and within a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and MRP systems.
