Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains customer forecasts and demands, creates and releases work orders and purchase orders to support requirements.
- Serves as a liaison between customers and suppliers, supporting the RFQ process and ensuring timely receipt of quotes.
- Monitors the company's backlog and collaborates with factory managers and the shipping supervisor to ensure timely shipment of orders.
- Selects appropriate suppliers to meet the company's needs and ensures their compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
- Maintains supplier relationships by monitoring capacity, managing quality, and expediting deliveries as necessary.
- Manages and evaluates supplier performance, including cost, delivery, and quality metrics.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Supply Chain Management background
- Proficiency in using computer software
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of manufacturing workflow
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP concepts and processes
- Education: BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a planner/scheduler or buyer in a discrete manufacturing environment
