Buyer - Optical Solutions

About the role

Molex is seeking a motivated Buyer to support our California, Mexico, and China locations. The role will report to the Purchasing Manager and will be based in Fremont, CA.

Responsibilities

• Ensures adherence to safety, environmental, and purchasing policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Processes purchase orders from requisitions using the company’s purchasing system.
• Issues RFQs, analyzes and evaluates quotes, negotiates price and terms, and selects suppliers based on lowest total cost of ownership.
• Understands and utilizes company’s strategic supply agreements to maximize value.
• Collaborates with internal requestors to understand requirements, including specifications, scopes of work, performance, and timing requirements.
• Demonstrates customer focus and sense of urgency.
• Communicates effectively with customers and suppliers, providing status updates and solving problems.
• Analyzes accounts payable exceptions and takes steps to resolve and prevent.
• Initiates changes to improve the purchasing process.
• Manages time to accomplish goals and prioritize tasks.
• Administers contractor management tools, including Ariba, Coupa, and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• At least 2 years of procurement and/or supply chain experience
• Experience working in electronics manufacturing
• Intermediate Excel skills, including experience with functionality and logic formulas
• Experience with ERP systems

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience with SAP
• Experience with key commercial terms such as freight payables, incoterms, delivery terms, and invoice reconciliations among others.
• Experience with purchasing process and procedures

Pay

$80,000 - $135,000 per year. Variable pay may be offered as a monetary bonus or in another form.
