About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It involves Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and procure construction materials, equipment, and services for various Blue Origin facilities projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with construction vendors and contractors
- Analyze market conditions and pricing trends to optimize procurement strategies
- Create and issue RFQs, purchase orders, and contracts for construction services and materials
- Evaluate vendor bids and proposals to determine best value solutions
- Maintain supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Collaborate with project managers to forecast material needs and schedule deliveries
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records
- Support capital improvement projects and facility expansion initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Blue Origin's procurement policies and procedures
- Identify cost-saving opportunities within the construction procurement process
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in construction or aerospace industries
- Strong understanding of construction materials, processes, and industry standards
- Experience with contract negotiation and supplier relationship management
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience in aerospace or other technical industries, Knowledge of government contracting and FAR/DFAR regulations, Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification, Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, Understanding of project management principles
