Buyer – Food Distribution

At Ferraro Foods, our Buyers help keep operations moving by sourcing products, managing purchasing activity, and building strong supplier relationships that support customers across the food industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can balance purchasing priorities while supporting day-to-day operations across the business. What You’ll Be Working On Support purchasing operations by sourcing and ordering products from manufacturers and suppliersHelp manage inventory levels and purchasing activity across the organizationCoordinate purchasing activity and ensure timely delivery of goods and servicesAssist with pricing audits and purchasing-related reportingMonitor market trends, supplier activity, and competitive changes within the industrySupport product sourcing initiatives and supplier relationship managementPartner with internal teams regarding purchasing needs and inventory updatesAssist with order entry, product inquiries, and purchasing-related requests as neededSupport additional purchasing and operational initiatives as assigned The Ingredients for Success Food industry experience required2–5 years of purchasing, procurement, buying, inventory, or related experience preferredExperience working within foodservice distribution, wholesale distribution, or inventory-driven environments preferredExperience using purchasing, ERP, or inventory management systems preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with strong follow-up skillsCustomer service mindset with the ability to support internal and external partnersProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferredAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment The Details Region: Northeast RegionWork Location: CT or NJTravel: Occasional travel based on business needsSchedule: Mon – Fri | Standard business hoursCompensation: $60,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experienceBenefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) Why Join Ferraro Foods?
