Buyer (Dripping Springs)

About the role

Patriot Erectors is seeking a Buyer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director of Procurement, this position will oversee sourcing and purchasing for various departments across four Texas-based operations.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: Secure and analyze supplier quotes; research and recommend suppliers on cost, quality, and delivery for assigned categories.
• Purchasing & Negotiation: Generate purchase orders for raw steel materials, fasteners, and pre-fabricated products; negotiate prices and terms to protect project margins.
• Market Intelligence: Track steel market prices and trends to ensure smart and proactive sourcing.
• Cross-Team Coordination: Work closely with Fabrication, Field Operations, and Project Management to keep sourcing on schedule across all four locations.
• Inventor Control: Set and maintain inventory parameters for assigned products.
• Problem Resolution: Address quality and delivery issues promptly to avoid delays in shop and field operations.
• Purchasing Strategy: Assist in organizing and implementing purchasing strategies under the guidance of the Director of Procurement.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a steel manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of purchasing and material-control experience in steel manufacturing
• Sharp negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with MS Office and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High energy, ethical conduct, and a team-first attitude

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree
• Tekla EPM experience
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• A continuous-improvement mindset – comfortable with metrics, reporting, and learning new tools

Schedule & Work Environment

Full-time; core hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional weekend or extended hours to support manufacturing schedules.
