About the role
The Buyer – Bike will be responsible for sourcing and managing inventory for Backcountry’s bike department. This role requires a deep understanding of cycling trends, market analysis, and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze market trends and consumer behavior to inform purchasing decisions
- Source and negotiate with suppliers for high-quality bike products
- Develop relationships with key suppliers and vendors
- Manage inventory levels and ensure product availability
- Collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams to align product offerings with brand strategy
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and innovations in cycling
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in retail or supply chain management, preferably in the outdoor industry
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Experience with inventory management systems and software
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and digital marketing strategies
- Understanding of sustainability and eco-friendly practices in the cycling industry
Skills
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

- $75,000 - $85,000 annually
