Buyer
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and purchase material daily to support production and optimize inventory utilizing MRP.
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
- Monitor material requirements and expedite deliveries as required to synchronize supply chain inventory with customer demand.
- Expedite orders when necessary and negotiate considerations from suppliers with delinquent delivery status.
- Communicate purchase order status with internal customers (i.e., engineering, sales, and management).
- Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with suppliers on later orders.
- Track orders and confirm system lead times, delivery dates, and costs.
- Establish and maintain order policies and lead times for product.
- Drive lead time and year over year cost reductions and establish supplier stocking agreements.
- Request pricing quote from suppliers for materials or services to determine the best quality at the best price.
- Review suppliers to keep abreast of new products and techniques.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Research sources of supplies and services to maintain flexibility, high quality and competitive pricing in the supplier base.
- Track and maintain delivery status of responsible purchase orders including delivery performance, quality, and pricing.
- Complete Supplier Performance Review.
- Cook up coordination efforts with suppliers and engineering as requested.
- Support lean manufacturing activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training And Competencies
- BA or BS degree with emphasis in engineering, business, or supply chain management
- APICS Certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, planning and/or other supply chain operations
- Experience with APAC suppliers and non-standard hours of communication is a plus
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office
- Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Oracle is a plus

Salary
The salary for this role will range from $56,000 to $84,000 annually based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, training, experience, education, etc. Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives. Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
