Job Summary

Procures quality supplies for Health System by entering into Workday system and using best procurement practices. Promotes the most efficient use of hospital funds for the various stages of purchase and management of supplies and equipment. Identifies cost savings and cost avoidances for all applicable departments and communicates with Department staff to perform product conversions. Communicates through various means on a daily basis with all levels of hospital and satellite staff and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma, College graduate preferred
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a hospital setting or formal training in Materials Management
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Financial ability to calculate prices, discounts, credits and cost analyses
• Initiative, good judgement, attention to detail and appropriate decision-making skills
• Ability to source needed product when unavailable due to manufacturer backorder or discontinuance
• Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and all levels of hospital and satellite staff
• Knowledgeable on participating GPOs

Physical Demands

• Must possess good physical health
• Standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time
• Lifting at least 50 pounds is required
• Moderate level of noise
