Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our Purchasing team. In this role, you will support a specialized manufacturing and engineering organization serving advanced industries such as aerospace, medical devices, and other highly regulated markets. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, equipment, and services that directly support production and operational goals. The ideal candidate is resourceful, analytical, and relationship-driven, with experience in a manufacturing environment and a proven ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery requirements. Key Responsibilities Source and procure materials, components, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies, specifications, and quality standards.Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements to achieve the best overall value and support cost-saving initiatives.Create, issue, and manage purchase orders while maintaining accurate records within the ERP/purchasing system.Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and responsiveness, and take corrective action when necessary.Partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, and other internal teams to support material requirements and production schedules.Track, analyze, and report key purchasing metrics, including supplier performance, inventory levels, and cost savings.Identify, evaluate, and help qualify new suppliers to support business growth, capacity requirements, and cost objectives.Support inventory management initiatives by maintaining appropriate stock levels and minimizing shortages or excess inventory.Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001 frameworks.Perform additional purchasing and sourcing activities as needed to support business operations. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience in a manufacturing or similarly complex environment.Experience working with ERP systems or other advanced purchasing platforms.Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to purchasing decisions.Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency and a proactive mindset.Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute within a collaborative team environment. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.CPM, CPSM, or similar purchasing certification.Experience working with international suppliers and import/export processes.Technical understanding of raw materials, electronic components, or industrial supplies.Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.Experience supporting aerospace, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Lake Park, MN 55432. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $42.00/hr.
