Are you a seasoned transformation leader who thrives on complexity and knows how to earn the trust of senior executives? The Strategy & Transformation team at CBRE Investment Management is seeking a Director to lead the initiation and execution of strategic transformation initiatives, create a strong vision with senior stakeholders, and coach leaders through change across our global organisation.

About the Role

The Business Transformation team, part of the Strategy & Transformation function, drives strategic transformation programmes across CBRE Investment Management to improve business performance. As a Director, you will carry end-to-end accountability for these programmes and run them with significant autonomy, owning everything from problem framing and solution design through to execution and adoption. You will partner with stakeholders including senior leaders to shape and challenge the agenda, bring analysis and external perspective that influence their thought-process, sharpen their decisions, and coach them to lead the change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead transformation programmes end-to-end, owning problem framing, strategic direction, solution design, business readiness, and sustained adoption across multiple workstreams.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify, scope, evaluate, and prioritise strategic initiatives.
  • Provide insight, analysis, and rationale to support or challenge initiatives, creating a strong vision for the overall objective for key stakeholders.
  • Align the objectives, benefits, and outcomes of initiatives with Leadership and the Business Transformation Group to ensure cohesion and support of the overall business strategy.
  • Support sponsors and senior leaders in their role as change leaders through coaching, facilitating, and influencing.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior executives, informing their decisions and coaching them and their sponsors as change leaders in transformation and change management best practice.
  • Shape and challenge the strategic agenda, providing the insight, analysis, and rationale to support or challenge initiatives and to create a compelling future-state vision for key stakeholders.
  • Run the governance for programmes—steering committees, sponsor and ExCo reporting, and the decision and risk forums that keep delivery on track.
  • Apply business architecture and systems thinking principles to frame options, weigh trade-offs, and recommend the strongest solution, actively managing risk throughout.
  • Own the change management approach across programmes, including impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and adoption.
  • Provide informal supervision within a project-based framework and, where required, take on formal supervisory responsibilities.
  • Mentor and coach team members to further develop their competencies.
  • Bring external perspective and market insight to the firm, drawing on industry networks, events, and research to inform our transformation agenda.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant working experience in investment management, real assets, or a closely adjacent financial services environment, with the industry and institutional knowledge to operate credibly alongside business SMEs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Real Estate or equivalent professional experience; a practitioner qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., PROSCI, CBAP, ACMP) is desirable.
  • Proven track record to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior executives, and to influence and coach them as change leaders; an expert communicator who adapts across audiences (e.g., operational teams to C-suite).
  • Strong track record of leading complex, multi-workstream transformation programmes—spanning operating model design, process re-engineering, technology-enabled change, and organisational design—end-to-end and with significant autonomy, delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of operating model design and strategic transformation, including organisational design, process architecture, and capability development.
  • Able to influence and drive outcomes without formal authority, operating with resilience across competing priorities and ambiguity.
  • Proficient business acumen, with deep industry and institutional knowledge of investment management and awareness of the wider commercial and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to embed credibly within a business team as a trusted partner while maintaining transformation discipline and independence of perspective.
  • An understanding of AI capabilities and how to apply them to transformation work—where they add value in analysis, design, and delivery.
