Business Systems Technology Manager

TEKsystems · Boston, MA · 2 days ago
On-siteInformation Technology$75–$100/hrContract

About the role

In this role you will own the systems behind Finance, Legal, HR and Operations: NetSuite, Ironclad, Celigo, BambooHR, Egnyte GXP, and JumpCloud. You are the admin, the developer, the integration owner, and the person Business Operations calls when they want something to work better. This is a builder role on a small team at a ~75-person company in Boston, MA. You will write SuiteScript, configure Celigo flows, run vendor evaluations, and sit with colleagues across the business to turn the way they work into systems they trust. Your work is visible: when a PO workflow is flawless, a contract syncs, or a new hire has access on day one, people will know you built it. We are looking for someone who likes ownership, prefers a clean native solution to a clever custom one, and writes things down so the next person can follow.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with Finance, Contracts, HR and Operations leaders to shape the roadmap for the systems they rely on.
  • Elicit requirements through workshops, interviews and process mapping; translate them into scoped, prioritized work with defined impact, risk and success criteria.
  • Analyze and redesign business processes, including where no defined process exists today.
  • Contribute to IS&T strategic planning for Business Operations.

Systems Administration & Development

  • Administer and develop NetSuite end to end: SuiteScript 2.1 (client scripts, Suitelets, RESTlets, workflow action scripts), saved searches, custom records and fields, roles and permissions, sandbox refreshes, and SDF deployments under Git source control.
  • Administer Ironclad CLM: workflow configuration, record permissions, the NetSuite PO to Ironclad sync and reverse status sync, and support for the Contracts team.
  • Support Procure-to-Pay in NetSuite: purchase request and PO forms, approval and SLA notifications, vendor onboarding, and AP automation.
  • Maintain employee lifecycle automation across JumpCloud, Egnyte, Celigo, BambooHR and NetSuite, including SSO/SCIM provisioning.

Integration & Data

  • Own the Celigo integration layer connecting NetSuite, Ironclad, BambooHR and JumpCloud: flow design, webhooks, file handling, error handling and monitoring, including automated Jira tickets on sync failures.
  • Map data flows with stakeholders, document API integrations and data dependencies, and address integration risks before they become outages.
  • Keep configurations aligned with information security and regulatory requirements; support computer system validation as needed.
  • Apply AI tooling where it earns its place, e.g., Claude API extraction of vendor quote data into PO fields.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Lead system evaluations: run RFIs and vendor deep dives, build comparison scorecards, and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Reach for native platform capabilities and existing infrastructure before building custom or adding licensing spend.
  • Drive implementations through testing, go-live and adoption; measure post-launch impact.

Operational Management

  • Manage work in Jira sprints and document it in Notion using standard templates.
  • Produce SOPs, how-to guides, go-live communications and end-user training.
  • Follow Cybersecurity and compliance governance, including change control.

Systems

  • NetSuite ERP: Finance, Procure-to-Pay, vendor and employee records — Sole admin and developer
  • Ironclad Contract lifecycle management (live July 2026) — Admin, workflow config, integration owner
  • Celigo iPaaS connecting NetSuite to Ironclad, BambooHR, JumpCloud — Flow design, hooks, error handling
  • BambooHR HRIS — Integration owner, employee sync
  • JumpCloud Identity, SSO/SCIM — Integration owner, provisioning flows
  • Jira / Notion — Sprint tracking and technical documentation, daily use, template upkeep
  • GitHub / SDF — NetSuite source control and deployment, repo owner

Technical Experience

  • Hands-on NetSuite administration and SuiteScript 2.1 development, with client scripts, Suitelets and RESTlets shipped to production.
  • Integration development on an iPaaS (Celigo, Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft) or directly against REST APIs, including authentication, error handling and retries.
  • Working SQL and a solid understanding of relational and SaaS data models.
  • Python, AWS, or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire) a plus.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Preferred: Ironclad or other CLM, BambooHR or another HRIS, Procure-to-Pay (PO approvals, vendor bills, AP automation), LLM APIs in business workflows, and biotech or life sciences experience.

Personal Attributes

  • Comfortable owning a system end to end: scoping your work, validating changes with the right internal stakeholders before deployment, and leaving clear, thorough documentation behind.
  • Enjoy collaborating with non-technical colleagues, communicating scope limitations clearly and respectfully, and making sure the solutions you build are useful and actually get used.
  • Write clearly, whether it is a technical spec, a how-to guide, or a note to the whole company.
  • Curious, analytical, and sweat the details.
  • Keep your head under pressure and like being part of a small team where everyone helps.
