About the role

Robert Half is seeking a Business Systems Analyst II to join their Applications, Technology and Innovation group. The team focuses on supporting the HCM, Payroll, Benefits, and Time modules, which are currently in PeopleSoft 9. A key integration involves APIs that connect PeopleSoft Time functionality with a Native Mobile App and a future Salesforce-based web client.

Responsibilities

  • Provide solutions in support of the current production systems, including applying judgement when investigating and resolving more complex user questions.
  • Create complex ad hoc reports or queries in support of system functionality or user requirements.
  • Implement new business processes to support system defect fixes, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Partner with support groups to provide integrated system support.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to more junior Business Systems Analysts in all day-to-day application and production issues.
  • Provide post-implementation support and enhancement/bug documentation as needed.
  • Prepare, initiate, and drive customer training as needed.
  • Maintain and configure User tables.
  • Document business requirements for medium to complex enhancements or defects.
  • Communicate Business Requirements for medium to complex enhancements/defects as required to other BSAs or SWEs.
  • Perform Unit/System Testing as required for medium to complex enhancements/defects; ensure test results are evaluated as Pass/Fail and documented.
  • Develop system documentation and requirements for medium-scale changes, potentially including proposing screen layouts, validation requirements, and error messages.
  • Afford assessments of upstream and downstream impacts of system changes and communicate with other departments/team to ensure an integrated solution.
  • Ensure that business processes, policies, and procedures are supported by proposed system solutions.
  • Identify alternatives to solve business problems and propose business processes and procedure modifications as needed.
  • Work with the business development and QS teams to confirm solutions meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical resources to resolve complex system issues.
  • Ensure application systems are aligned with user needs, exercising independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results on small to medium special assignments.
  • Lead small to medium projects on functionally areas.

Requirements

  • AA or Certification degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of business functional area experience, including 3+ years' experience with Business Applications.
  • Experience in PeopleSoft HCM and/or Time and Labor preferred.
  • Experience in ERP/SaaS for HCM/Payroll/Time or knowledge of multiple enterprise applications preferred.
  • PeopleSoft Upgrade Experience preferred.
  • MS Office Suite, Security administration, strong SQL knowledge, complete SDLC experience, Java / .Net experience.
  • Relevant business acumen, functional experience: (Visio, Collaboration Tools - Talking, Video, Virtual Meetings).
  • Ability to interact and communicate with customers of varying levels of expertise.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to communicate business process to technical resources.
  • Ability to create complex process flow diagrams or flowcharts that demonstrate business or system process flow.
  • Ability to gather requirements effectively; document requirements and confirm observations with business owners.
  • Ability to perform fit/gap analysis based on requirements.
  • Ability to create detailed and thorough test plans for medium-sized initiatives.
  • Ability to prioritize job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated Customer Service abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of business systems software.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Ability to write complex queries and reports.
  • Ability to develop a project plan, meeting established deliverables and timelines.
  • Ability to execute based upon directions from senior team members.
  • Ability to provide guidance to lower-level personnel.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Ability to create thorough documentation.
  • Ability to conduct meetings, gather information, and present status.
