Business Systems Analyst I (Business Systems Analyst I), Information Technology Services-2 Positions
About the role
The Business Analyst supports the daily operations of the Element451 Applicant and Student Engagement Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The position is responsible for administering, configuring, monitoring, and continuously improving CRM workflows, campaigns, data processes, and integrations that support admissions, outreach, and student engagement operations across campus.
Responsibilities
- Administer daily operations of Element451 CRM (workflows, campaigns, segments, data integrity) to support MarCom, admissions, outreach, and recruitment
- Monitor system performance and data quality; identify issues and coordinate resolutions per procedures
- Support campus units in meeting enrollment goals; create/maintain workflows, forms, events, appointments, and campaigns
- Participate in CSUSB committees/meetings to assist with project planning
- Support senior BSAs with KPI development; prepare progress, status, and year-end reports
- Maintain CRM documentation and knowledge base; provide user support and troubleshooting
- Aid in training campus users on CRM and project management tools
- Perform data imports, exports, appends, and QA reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Complete other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- General knowledge of principles and concepts of business systems, process analysis, technology applications, and project management
- Strong organizational and time management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize work
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to gather information from clients, communicate technical issues effectively, and produce documentation
- General knowledge and ability to troubleshoot system issues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive data and information
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Analytical skills to collect, analyze, and interpret application process problems and technology needs; to evaluate project performance and manage issues, risk, and changes of scope
- Computer skills to appropriately troubleshoot and alter systems as required
- Ability to work with and analyze standard data sets and write reports using database, query language, and analytical tools

- Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis

Benefits
Compensation and benefits are competitive and include medical, dental, and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Eligible employees are also able to participate in the fee waiver education program.
Pay
Salary offered will take into account internal equity and experience among other factors. Anticipated hiring range Step 1 $5,787 per month CSU Classification Salary Step Range: $5,787-$8,430 per month (Step 1 – Step 20)
Schedule
Academic year schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm), some evenings/weekends. Summer schedule: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm), some evenings/weekends.
