Business System Analyst III

About the role

Our direct healthcare client in Newark, NJ is seeking a strong candidate for a contract-to-hire Business Systems Analyst III. The role is responsible for analyzing, understanding, and translating business needs into business and technical requirements, leading and coordinating teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business requirements for medium to complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the analysis and understanding of medium to complex issues, and coordinate the documentation of business needs.
• Lead the Business Requirements Gathering process, including the creation of deliverables.
• Lead and manage the process for identifying and recommending improvements; lead verification and validation of requirements, obtaining approvals on solution requirements and traceability.
• Conduct detailed research and coordinate analysis necessary to identify viable solution alternatives.
• Define success criteria for projects.
• Follow the company's business requirements documentation process utilizing the appropriate tools.
• Create and deliver work estimates to customers.
• Create and coordinate the creation of technical documents and high-level solution designs.
• Provide input on solution design, technical feasibility/limitations, and perform Proof of Concepts as required.
• Coordinate with architecture, security, and other IT areas to ensure the solution adheres to enterprise standards.
• Coordinate the development, testing, and implementation of system specifications.
• Work with testing teams on developing automated test scripts/processes.
• Provide consistent, accurate, and timely communications to stakeholders and project teams.
• Ensure appropriate transition to the operations team.

Requirements

• Experience and knowledge of XML, API, and integration; EDI experience is beneficial.
• Experience writing technical requirements as TRD (Technical Requirements Document) and business requirements as BRD (Business Requirements Document).
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of system development life cycle and implementation methodologies.
• Excellence in structured query languages or analysis techniques.
• Strong ability to apply structure to loosely defined complex problems.
• Demonstrates understanding of core business functions.
