Business Services Representative (Small Business Specialist)

The Business Services Representative delivers cash-management solutions to commercial and business banking relationships, providing a full range of business deposits and related services. This role partners with Business and Commercial Bankers as a subject-matter expert in business deposits and related services, and self-sources new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Sales
- Achieve individual and/or team financial, production, and relationship results relative to assigned metrics and goals, aligning with community needs and the Bank’s commitment to diverse lending.
- Engage with customers, prospects, and referral sources through proactive outreach.
- Represent the Bank in the community by attending and participating in civic and community events to generate additional business and identify potential CRA opportunities.
- Use sales practices that create value for both the customer and the Bank, ensuring relevant financial guidance drives informed decisions.
- Service Standards
- Foster collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers, prospects, and colleagues.
- Initiate conversations to uncover sales or referral opportunities.
- Listen attentively and ask insightful questions to understand customer needs and preferences, addressing immediate needs promptly.
- Proactively seek coaching, support Bank initiatives, and leverage tools to optimize performance.
- Operations and Administration
- Comply with all regulations, Bank policies, procedures, and delegated authorities to manage risk related to credit, operational, reputational, regulatory, and legal aspects of interactions, transactions, and financial exposures.
- Complete required training by established deadlines.
- Perform general office management duties to ensure operational efficiency.
- For roles involving deposits, ensure transaction accuracy and operational efficiency, contributing to both individual and team performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience in Sales or financial services sales or High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Sales or financial services sales.
- Valid driver’s license; frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc. (Bank car not provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in business development, business banking, lending, merchant services, treasury management, or small business banking.
Skills
- Application of a structured sales process.
- Providing financial guidance and expertise.
- Financial literacy.
- Knowledge of retail and wealth solutions referred.
- Knowledge of business deposit and cash-management solutions.
- Business development, networking, and building centers of influence.
Pay
If hired in Massachusetts, the base pay for this position is generally between $75,000 and $95,000 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
