About the Role

This is a salaried exempt, individual contributor role responsible for the successful execution of business projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals. The position reports to the Manager, Systems & Process Improvement and is located onsite at the Mansfield Power & Gas office in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform As-is and To-be process mapping, assisting business users with process optimization activities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and document end-to-end solution requirements that may span multiple projects.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of business projects, ensuring objectives are met and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, resource schedules, and budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Identify situations where configuration cannot fully meet requirements and work with management to address associated business processes.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or contractors when necessary to support project requirements.
  • Ensure projects are executed to a high standard of quality, meeting both business requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Conduct project reviews, gather feedback, and implement improvements to enhance future project delivery.
  • Create and maintain reports and provide analytical insights into project KPIs and other measures.
  • Consolidate, audit, and/or reconcile data sets associated with project work as directed.
  • Build consensus with user groups and key stakeholders on product requirements, roadmap(s), and strategy.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, sales, and operations, to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Assist with the development and execution of test plans to ensure system changes meet specifications and business requirements.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and ensure system configurations are performing as expected.
  • Stay up-to-date with new system features, software upgrades, and industry best practices.
  • Recommend system enhancements to improve business operations and user experience.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with product owners to provide innovative ideas and insights in the design of new solutions.
  • Work closely with senior management to align integration strategies with business goals, ensuring technology solutions contribute to organizational success.
  • Provide input on the development of integration standards, best practices, and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2) is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in project management, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Experience working with project management for software systems deployment and integrations.
  • Preference given to applicants with working knowledge of Natural Gas retail and wholesale industry segments.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and how they translate into system configurations.
  • Proficiency with advanced Excel formulas and large-scale data cleanup and transformation.
  • Preferred experience with Python and relational database systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Willingness to work unusual/extended hours as necessary during seasonal peaks, which may include partial weekend coverage.
  • Ability to handle heavy workloads in a potentially stressful environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Decisive, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and a constant drive for process improvement.
  • Comfortable working with multiple computer programs and willingness to learn new technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and present ideas and data clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and interact effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment

  • After completion of the introductory period, this position is eligible for the Company’s 3x2 hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, business conditions permitting.
  • Able to work remotely during emergency or critical operating conditions.
  • Ability to sit and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other components.
  • Close visual acuity needed to review financial statements and discern fine print.
  • Planned overnight and weekend travel to Company headquarters several times a year, as well as travel to pipeline and customer meetings and/or energy industry conferences.
