About the role
The Business Procurement Manager serves as a key point of contact and interface from procurement for the assigned business, function or region, providing strategic procurement leadership to that organization.
Responsibilities
- Builds credibility and collaborative business relationships at the business level with the assigned business, function or region ensuring governance across direct and indirect spend. Partners with a wide range of procurement leaders and associates to bring together a comprehensive procurement perspective for the stakeholders. Ensures business needs and key strategies are integrated into leveraged category spend and that there is a clear value proposition for the assigned business to implement sourcing strategies in business, function or region.
- Safeguards supply chain security by identifying gaps, proposing and implementing changes necessary to close gaps, which may be related to supplier, processes or other commercial issues. Effectively uses all change tools to facilitate adoption of change. Uses project management tools to facilitate resolution of supply issues, reporting and improving relationships with suppliers and Procurement’s business partners. Leads reporting activities for supplier risk management and supplier relationship management activities.
- Contributes to overall functional strategy and procure to pay process improvements.
- Educates internal / external customers on various technical and procurement process issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of work experience
- Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Supplier Management in either or both Manufacturing and Services environments
- Broad business knowledge and acumen
- Proficiency in strategic sourcing or category management with a history of successful implementation
- Experience with supplier value management, supplier development and continuous improvement
- Able to successfully champion change and innovation
- Working and influencing within a highly matrixed organization
- Skilled at developing partnerships; building and maintaining strong working relationships
- A proven track record of developing programs and collaborating with others to reach mutual outcomes
- Adept at leading and working in diverse environments
