Responsibilities

  • Obtain authorization for Home Care Services and ensure medical records are accurate, including proper and timely Physician signatures.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for initial authorization in accordance with insurance company contracts.
  • Handle follow-up authorization requests, notify staff of authorizations received, visit limits, and discharge needs due to denial.
  • Maintain active and inactive medical records, including filing, scanning, and electronic file audits.
  • Review patient forms and documents for compliance while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Review Start of Care and Discharge documents for compliance.
  • Greet visitors, customers, and staff professionally while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Create admit packets and manage inventory.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, memos, schedules, and other documents.
  • Schedule employee training, in-services, CPR, and annual skills labs.
  • Oversee front desk operations, including multi-line telephone systems, fax, copier, and general office equipment.
  • Collect and distribute incoming mail and faxes to appropriate personnel or departments.
  • Maintain a professional image and understanding of the company’s scope of services.
  • Promote a customer-friendly atmosphere for coworkers and internal/external customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate (or equivalent).
  • Knowledgeable in general office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to function with frequent interruptions and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of healthcare office functions is a plus.
  • Ability to organize workflow efficiently with accurate results.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
