About the role
Remote position (must be based in PST) for a 6+ month contract. We need someone comfortable being hands‑on: gathering information, facilitating conversations, sitting at the keyboard, building workflows, documenting decisions, and helping teams reach a usable future‑state process. The role requires comfort in an environment where the operating model is still being developed and processes will evolve, with a strong ability to document roles, decision rights, ownership, handoffs, and governance, and to iterate processes as the Product Operating Model is tested and matured.
Responsibilities
- Design and document the end‑to‑end processes and workflows.
- Walk into a room where multiple stakeholders have different interpretations of a process, ask the right questions to establish clarity, facilitate the conversation, and challenge thinking when needed.
- Be hands‑on enough to translate those discussions into practical deliverables, including opening Visio and building the process flow.
- Work directly with business and technology leaders to understand how work actually flows and translate those conversations into clear, usable process maps, workflows, decision trees, RACIs, and operating procedures.
- Lead working sessions with business and technology stakeholders to understand current and future‑state processes.
- Ask probing questions to uncover how work actually moves through the organization, including decision points, handoffs, dependencies, exceptions, and pain points.
- Translate conversations and working sessions into detailed end‑to‑end process maps and workflows.
- Build and maintain process documentation using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, PowerPoint, or similar tools.
- Define decision rights, roles, responsibilities, inputs, outputs, controls, and handoffs within each process.
- Develop decision trees, swimlane diagrams, RACIs, workflow diagrams, and supporting process documentation.
- Partner with Product, Portfolio, Technology, Finance, Risk, Operations, and other teams to ensure processes work across organizational boundaries.
- Identify gaps, overlaps, unclear ownership, and process breakdowns and help teams work through practical solutions.
- Facilitate conversations when stakeholders have different perspectives on how a process should work.
- Iterate process designs based on stakeholder feedback and lessons learned as the Product Operating Model is implemented.
- Help create a consistent set of playbooks, standards, and process artifacts that teams can use going forward.
- Support Development Of Workflows:
- Work intake and disposition
- Product and portfolio planning
- Prioritization and decision‑making
- Capacity and funding
- Governance and escalation
- Dependency management
- Epic/work flow through persistent product teams
- Risk, compliance, and control integration
- Roles and decision rights
- Product/team lifecycle processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience supporting a Product Operating Model, Agile/product transformation, portfolio management, or enterprise operating model
- Familiarity working with Product Manager, Product Owner, Technology Lead, Agile/Scrum, Portfolio Management, and governance roles
Skills
- Ability to lead conversations and working sessions with business and technology stakeholders to understand how work should flow
- Skill in asking the right questions to uncover decision points, decision rights, handoffs, ownership, dependencies, and exceptions
- Capability to take ambiguous conversations and turn them into clear, practical future‑state processes
- Advanced experience personally building detailed process maps, swimlanes, decision trees, and workflows in Visio or similar tools
- Experience developing operating procedures, playbooks, governance models, RACIs, and decision frameworks
- Financial services experience is a plus
- Comfortable working with leaders and SMEs across multiple areas and driving conversations toward clarity and decisions
