Business Process Enablement Manager
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Business Process Enablement Manager supports the delivery and continuous improvement of technology solutions that enable New Product Commercialization (NPC) processes. This role partners closely with Product leaders, IT, and business process teams to ensure solutions meet defined business requirements and are effectively tested, implemented, and adopted by users.
Scope & Impact
Operates within a large-scale NPD ecosystem involving technical and business professionals across multiple functions. Supports various defined platforms, programs, or process areas within the broader NPD lifecycle. Contributes to improved efficiency, usability, and consistency of NPD tools and processes. Impacts timeliness and quality of solution delivery through strong execution, coordination, and follow-through.
Essential Functions
- Serves as a key contributor to the associate and business user experience for technology solutions supporting New Product Development.
- PARTNERING WITH PRODUCT LEADERS, IT, AND BUSINESS PROCESS TEAMS:
- Partners with Product leaders, IT, and business process teams to gather, document, and clarify business requirements for assigned initiatives.
- Translates defined business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and process documentation for technology development teams.
- SUPPORTING TESTING ACTIVITIES:
- Supports testing activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT), pilots, and phased rollouts, to validate that solutions meet documented requirements.
- CORRELATING WITH DEVELOPMENT TEAMS:
- Collaborates with development teams to track progress, resolve issues, and ensure delivery aligns with agreed-upon scope and timelines.
- COLLECTING AND SYNTHESIZING USER FEEDBACK:
- Collects and synthesizes user feedback; escalates insights and improvement opportunities to Product or Program leadership.
- ASSISTING IN MONITORING ADOPTION AND EFFECTIVENESS METRICS:
- Affords assistance in monitoring adoption and effectiveness metrics for assigned solutions and initiatives.
- CONTRIBUTING TO PROCESS IMPROVEMENT EFFORTS:
- Contributes to process improvement efforts using a lean philosophy and a structured problem-solving approach.
- WORKING WITH THE TEAM:
- Works with the team to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and opportunities within defined areas of NPD.
- ENSURING ALIGNMENT WITH ESTABLISHED TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS:
- Ensures alignment with established technology standards, architectural guidance, and security requirements in partnership with IT.
- COMMUNICATING & INFLUENCING CHANGE:
- Demonstrates working knowledge of how enterprise tools and platforms are designed and built, enabling effective dialogue with developers regarding feasibility, tradeoffs, and enhancement opportunities.
- COLLABORATING WITH DEVELOPMENT TEAMS:
- Collaborates with development teams using appropriate technical terminology and artifacts (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, system behaviors) to clarify requirements and suggest improvements to existing or new solutions.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of product development processes and business operations.
- Ability to analyze business needs and translate them into clear, well-documented requirements.
- Experience supporting testing, rollout, and adoption of technology solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate & influence change at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently on defined assignments with limited supervision while escalating issues appropriately.
- Working knowledge of agile or iterative delivery practices.
- Collaborative mindset and customer-focused approach.
- Foundational understanding of software development concepts, such as how applications are structured, configured, and enhanced.
- Ability to engage productively with developers by framing enhancement ideas in terms of system behavior, logic, and constraints, without being responsible for writing production code.
