Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in strengthening relationships with clients, contributing to market impact through business development in a highly collaborative environment and supporting the delivery of engagements.
  • Partner with strategic clients to help shape the future of the HR function.
  • Develop strategies and do practical roll-up work to help HR leadership teams deliver business outcomes.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients and within the community as you serve as an ambassador of Protiviti in the market.
  • Support mentorship and growth of junior team members as you contribute to the successful completion of project work plans.

Requirements

  • Passionate about HR transformation and payroll modernization, with a focus on delivering measurable business value.
  • Developing point of view on HR operating model design, payroll service delivery, and functional effectiveness.
  • Comfortable working with HR and Payroll leaders, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Intellectually curious about how HR and payroll functions create value, and actively identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and improve processes.
  • Foundational knowledge across the HR and payroll technology stack and can help clients explore new ways of working.
  • Translate diagnostic insights into clear, actionable transformation recommendations.
  • Support market presence through client relationships and networking.
  • Experienced in supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of HR and payroll technologies and can navigate functional and technical conversations.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, high-performance culture and enjoys supporting the development of others.
  • Takes ownership of your engagements and contributes to pipeline and business development efforts.
  • Enjoys contributing to repeatable methodologies, tools, and assets that scale the HR Transformation practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in HR transformation, payroll consulting, human capital consulting, or progressive HR/Payroll roles.
  • Experience in a professional services consulting firm is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); experience with process mapping or analytics tools a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, PMP, CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), or similar preferred.

Skills

  • Experience With Or Understanding Of Supporting HR transformation programs, including HR operating model redesign, payroll process improvement, and technology enablement.
  • Assisting with HR and payroll organizational design and workforce planning aligned to business strategy and key outcomes.
  • Contributing to HR and payroll transformation business case models, briefing materials, and roadmaps.
  • Supporting the design and implementation of skills-based workforce strategies and talent frameworks.
  • Improving global HR and payroll operations, including automating work at scale and enhancing employee experience.
  • Implementing and optimizing major HR and payroll technologies (e.g., Workday Payroll, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, UKG) and best in class solutions across Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, and Payroll.
  • Assisting change management efforts to support adoption of new HR structures, payroll processes, and technologies.

Benefits

The total cash range is estimated from the sum of the base salary range plus the bonus target opportunity. Starting salary is based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location.

$98,000.00 - $146,000.00

The annual bonus plan provides eligible employees additional cash and/or discretionary stock compensation opportunities. Below is the bonus target opportunity for this job.

Pay

Starting salary is based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location.

Schedule

The ratio of remote to in-person requirements vary by client, project, team, and other business factors. Our people work both in-person in local Protiviti offices and on client sites, which can include local or out-of-state travel based on our projects and client requests and commitments.
