Business Operations
About the role
We’re hiring a Business Operations professional to own the operational backbone of the company as we scale following our Series A. You’ll take ownership of finance, legal, procurement, security, and people operations, transitioning these responsibilities from our Head of Operations. The systems are already in place. We need someone who can own them end-to-end, improve them as we scale, and become the go-to operator for some of the company’s most important and sensitive functions.
This role is especially well suited for someone who has operated inside a high-growth startup and wants significantly more ownership. Over time, there is a clear opportunity to grow into a Head of Operations role and build a team beneath you.
Responsibilities
- Own finance, legal, security, procurement, and people operations.
- Manage company finances, including runway tracking, spend, budgeting, taxes, and cost efficiency.
- Own the procurement loop, including vendor contracts and MSAs.
- Partner with lawyers on contract negotiations and legal matters.
- Drive security reviews for new B2B customer contracts and ensure deals move through procurement quickly.
- Manage vendor agreements, security contracts, office agreements, and operational documentation.
- Own payroll, HR compliance, onboarding documentation, and other people operations processes.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees on sensitive operational and people matters.
- Partner closely with sales and other teams to remove operational blockers.
- Improve existing systems and processes as the company grows.
- Help build the operations function and eventually manage additional team members.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in Business Operations, finance, Chief of Staff, or a related role, ideally at a high-growth startup.
- Hands-on experience with finance and legal/security operations.
- Experience managing runway, spend, budgets, taxes, or other company financial processes.
- Experience with procurement, vendor contracts, MSAs, or B2B commercial agreements.
- Comfortable working directly with lawyers, accountants, customer security teams, and other external stakeholders.
- Exposure to payroll, HR compliance, onboarding, or other people operations responsibilities.
- Highly personable and able to build trust with employees on sensitive matters.
- Strong ownership mentality with the ability to independently drive processes from start to finish.
- Comfortable moving quickly and handling urgent operational needs.
- Consulting experience is a plus when paired with meaningful hands-on operating or deal experience.
- Must be able to work in-person five days per week in San Francisco.
