About the role
Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center is seeking candidates for a Business Officer 1, Business Officer Trainee 1, or Business Officer Trainee 2 position. This role involves conducting financial analyses, identifying spending trends, preparing cost projections, reviewing and tracking expenditures, assisting in budget requests, monitoring inventory, and overseeing contract and grant administration activities.
Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply under the NY HELPS program.
- For Business Officer 1: 6 years of professional experience in the administration of a business office or program, including responsibility for accounting, budgeting, contract administration, and purchasing.
- For Business Officer Trainee 1: 4 years of professional experience in the administration of a business office or program, including responsibility for accounting, budgeting, contract administration, and purchasing.
- To advance to the full performance level, a 2-year traineeship is required.
- For Business Officer Trainee 2: 5 years of professional experience in the administration of a business office or program, including responsibility for accounting, budgeting, contract administration, and purchasing.
- To advance to the full performance level, a 1-year traineeship is required.
- Candidates within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment with a 2-year traineeship.
- Candidates within State Service can also be considered for a competitive class appointment with 1 year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service.

A background check will be required. The salary range listed encompasses the hiring rate of a Business Officer 1/Trainee (SG-NS) through the job rate of a Business Officer 1 (SG-18).
The position is eligible for a down state adjustment of $4,000.
