About the role

This position works in the Business Office, within the Office of Business Affairs, and is responsible for cashiering duties, overseeing the collection of student accounts, and processing accounts payable. The role includes processing end-of-month student financial statements, coordinating with collection agencies for non-payment cases, and collaborating with the Financial Aid Office to provide student balance estimates. The Coordinator ensures collection efforts comply with University policies and all applicable laws while assisting the Director of Business Services and cross-training across business affairs departments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cashiering duties in the Business Office.
  • Oversee the collection of student accounts and process accounts payable.
  • Process end-of-month student financial statements.
  • Work with collection agencies in cases of non-payment.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Aid Office to ensure accurate student balance estimates.
  • Ensure collection efforts comply with University policies and local, state, and federal laws.
  • Assist the Director of Business Services and cross-train in other business affairs areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Formal training and/or experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Familiarity working in a Christian educational context (preferred).
  • Committed to and supportive of the vision and mission of Williams Baptist University.
  • Active membership in a local Christian church adhering to an evangelical faith consistent with the historic religious beliefs of Southern Baptists (per WBU Employee Handbook policy).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to type, answer phones, read, stretch, and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, sit, type, and walk for extended periods.

Work Environment

Hectic and sometimes noisy inside work environment with ongoing phone calls and stakeholders visiting the office for assistance. Requires successful multitasking.

Schedule

Full-time position. Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday. May require infrequent overtime, arriving early, or working late.
