About the role
The Business Office Manager at The Pines of DeKalb is responsible for overseeing financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, benefits administration, and resident trust. Key duties include managing Medicare and Medicaid applications, ensuring accurate documentation, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Guide, inspire, and support the office team to achieve high standards of accuracy, accountability, and promote a positive and collaborative environment.
- Show attention to detail in documentation, record keeping, data entry, financial reporting, and billing.
- Apply critical thinking and time management skills to address issues effectively, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and regulatory agencies.
- Build a supportive presence and engage empathetically with residents.
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals to ensure excellent care for residents.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Some college preferred.
- One to three years of nursing home accounting or business office accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid.
