About the role
The Business Office Manager at The Pines of DeKalb is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the facility, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, benefits administration, and resident trust. Key duties include managing Medicare and Medicaid applications and ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Guide, inspire, and support the office team to achieve high standards of accuracy, accountability, and foster a positive and collaborative environment.
- Show attention to detail in documentation, record-keeping, data entry, financial reporting, and billing.
- Use critical thinking and time management to address issues effectively, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and regulatory agencies.
- Resolve conflicts and mediate interpersonal issues with empathy and professionalism.
- Create a supportive and engaging atmosphere for residents.
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals to ensure excellent care for residents.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong passion for geriatric advocacy and commitment to senior care excellence.
- One to three years of nursing home accounting or business office accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid.
