Position Summary The Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the business office. This role ensures smooth administrative functions, effective coordination between departments, and compliance with University and DSCC internal policies and procedures. The Business Office Manager is a key player in supporting Business Office activities and providing leadership to office staff. Duties & Responsibilities Manage and oversee all Business Office staff operations, including daily functions, monthly reconciliations, quarterly reporting, and fiscal year end activities. Supervise and mentor Business Office staff to ensure smooth workflow and team cohesion. Provide training and professional development opportunities as needed. Assist with budgeting and reporting needs for Assistant Director of Finance, Accounting, & Procurement. Oversee financial records and work with the Business Office team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. Serve as a point of contact for internal and external communication as needed. Handle phone calls, emails, and correspondence promptly and professionally. Ensure that office practices comply with all University and policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements. Prepare reports for management regarding office activities and budget performance. Identify and implement improvements to Business Office procedures and workflows to increase productivity and reduce inefficiencies.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.Five years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience. (NOTE: A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.) Experience in University of Illinois specific accounting and funding activities . Familiarity with University of Illinois systems such as Banner, Chrome River, EDDIE.ect. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in office management, administrative support, or a similar role.
