About the role

The Business Management Director 1 will lead the Northrop Grumana Aeronautics Systems Sector (NGAS) indirect budgeting function, responsible for developing, integrating, and managing indirect cost budgets and forecasts across overhead, G&A, and other indirect pools. Partners with sector, program, and functional leadership to ensure indirect resources are aligned with business strategy, meet affordability targets, and comply with applicable internal controls and government requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, and shape the annual and long-range indirect budget and forecast cycles for Aeronautics Systems
  • Consolidate sector-wide indirect budgets; analyze variances vs. plan, prior year, and forecast; provide actionable insights to senior leadership
  • Ensure indirect rate structures and budgets support competitive forward pricing rates and program affordability
  • Serve as a primary business partner to functional and program leadership on indirect budgets, headcount, and investment trade-offs
  • Provide financial analysis and scenarios to support decisions on staffing, footprint, capital, and strategic initiatives
  • Define and develop financial metrics to identify cost efficiency opportunities across all functions
  • Maintain strong internal controls around budgeting, forecasting, and rate development in accordance with company standards and government regulations (e.g., CAS, FAR, DFARS as applicable)
  • Drive continuous improvement in budgeting tools, templates, and processes to increase efficiency, transparency, and accuracy
  • Ensure indirect budgeting practices are consistent with Corporate guidance and sector requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of finance and accounting experience OR Master’s Degree and 8 years of finance and accounting experience
  • Prior experience in a formal leadership role
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with DCMA / DCAA
  • Familiarity with CAS (Cost Accounting Standards) / FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation)

Pay

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
