Summary
This position supports Comprehensive Capital Analysis & Review (CCAR) and Capital Risk Management teams focusing on risk identification in processes performing capital adequacy, regulatory capital requirements, and capital planning activities. The role serves as the initial point of escalation for existing and emerging risks, providing guidance and engaging other risk management teams as needed to manage risks and control inventory.
Responsibilities
- Partners with leaders in their assigned Line of Business, Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) Consultants, and other RCA Managers to oversee the successful creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective risk management framework.
- Supports strategic priorities to identify impacts to risk management frameworks and operational outcomes, designing mitigations and controls before go-live.
- Leads projects and/or activities ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Facilitates the identification of gaps and drives solutions minimizing losses from inadequate internal processes, systems, or human errors.
- Influences policies and procedures to maximize profit potential and minimize regulatory exposure.
- Ensures an effective partnership between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.
Qualifications
- Typically more than 10 years of applicable experience.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends impacting the assigned line of business, specifically Dodd Frank Reg Q and Reg YY.
- Advanced understanding of Capital measurement, including construction and defense of capital ratios, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
- Exercising leadership without organizational hierarchy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and tailoring of communications for multiple levels of management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications.
- Applicable professional certifications.
Location Expectations
The role requires working onsite from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.
