Business Intelligence Engineer (GR 31)

PACCAR Financial is looking for a seasoned Business Intelligence Engineer to join the team. You will analyze various key data sources, transform the data to its most useful form, and then help present using valuable reports or dashboards for PFC business to make key decisions on the daily basis.

- Facilitates the sale of premium-quality PACCAR vehicles in 20 countries on three continents worldwide by offering a full spectrum of creative, flexible financial products and value-added services specifically tailored to the transportation industry.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Analyze and visualize structured and unstructured data
- Understand data models and how they support key decisions and key performance indicators (KPI’s)
- Create ad-hoc reports and visualizations for executive leadership, enabling data-driven decisions in sales, marketing and operations
- Develop Tableau Reports with a strong understanding of advanced Tableau features and capabilities
- Communicate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical designs
- Build interactive, customizable reports and designs and creates data visualizations and maintains complex Tableau dashboards
- Create analytical reports by blending data from multiple sources on a single worksheet in Tableau
- Build, define, execute and interpret SQL queries
- Analyze data, define requirements and develop documentation
- Optimize performance of Tableau dashboards by enhancing data models and streaming complex queries
- Lead complex projects and mentor/help interns and contribute to strategic planning
- Provide training users on how to navigate and use Tableau dashboards and support to resolve issues
- Manage Tableau administration tasks, such as setting permissions, managing user ownership, and adding users to appropriate groups
- Support ad hoc requests from PFC business units
Qualifications & Skills
- 7+ years of experience in large-scale software development with emphasis on data modeling and database development
- 3-5 years of experience with BI Tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- 3-5 years of experience with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle) as well as cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake) and SQL coding
- Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with business users, project team leaders and application developers
- Experience participating in Agile/Scrum projects in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline team environment
- Strong command over SQL programming (e.g. PL/SQL, T-SQL)
Education
A Master's degree in computer science or related field required.
