About the role

The Business Intelligence Engineer at Humana works on complex business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide insights to decision-makers. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Lead, this role involves interpreting and independently determining appropriate courses of action for varied assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Describe tools, applications, and practices used to analyze an organization's raw data to create insightful business information.
  • Understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating goals, including their linkages to related areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5 years or less of technical experience in data analysis.
  • Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis.
  • Passion for contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience in SQL, SAS, or other data systems.
  • In-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, and graphs.
  • Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques.
  • Expertise to guide decision-making and improve outcomes.

Travel

While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $66,800 - $91,100 per year
