Business Information Consultant
About the role
The Business Information Consultant role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an expert in data analysis, reporting, and formulating recommendations, providing guidance to other data analysts.
- Manages the competitive intelligence dataset, taking on ad hoc requests from internal stakeholders and relaying stakeholder questions to the vendor to solve root-cause issues and answer inquiries.
- Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
- Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
- Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g., for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
- Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
- Makes recommendations based upon data analysis.
- Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership, or external customers.
- Data analysis and reporting encompasses a much higher level of complexity.
Requirements
- Requires a BS/BA degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
- Preferred Skills, Capabilities & Experiences:
- Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Snowflake, Python, and/or SAS is helpful.
- Ability to manipulate large sets of data strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills strongly preferred.
