Business Finance Manager - CAPV
About the role
The Business Finance Manager – CAPV serves as the Financial Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned product lines, partnering with Business Leaders, Commercial, Planning, and Finance teams to deliver financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and modeling that supports strategic decision making. The Business Finance Manager is also accountable for comprehensive Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis and performance insights across applicable product lines.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Financial Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designated Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls product lines, supporting Business Leaders with actionable financial insights.
- Lead the development and ownership of budgets and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness of financial projections.
- Provide proactive financial analysis, reporting, and modeling to support strategic decision-making across assigned product lines and P&L categories.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Planning, Operations, and Finance teams to gather data and deliver meaningful financial insights.
- Manage and evaluate product-level budgets and forecasts, including key P&L components such as standard cost, production, pricing, inventory, and inter/intra-company variances.
- Perform monthly financial reporting and variance analysis, investigating and clearly communicating drivers of performance against plan and forecast.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities while supporting ad hoc analysis and modeling as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree* in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; CMA or CPA certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a closely related finance or accounting role, ideally within chemicals or manufacturing industries.
- Experience demonstrating strong analytical skills, including a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, and management reporting required.
- Proficiency with ERP systems required; SAP preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and accounting software required.
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
Qualifications
- Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
