Summary
Supports the State and Regional staff in the achievement of financial and operational objectives through the implementation and administration of financial plans. Assists in the annual budget process and periodic forecasting and analysis of operations' performance. Provides financial analysis to support business decision making and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for the maintenance of an effective control environment under SOX 404 for the accounting operations he or she oversees.
- Performs monthly and quarterly analysis of operations' results for all State and Regional Centers vs. plan(s).
- Prepares financial plans in accordance with annual budgets, quarterly revenue and profit targets, headcount authorizations and recurring forecasts.
- Serves as the regions' primary liaison to corporate finance and accounting; articulates field operations' needs for support and assistance.
- Serves as a financial resource to the operating group Vice President and State Director(s).
- Reviews and makes recommendations for approval of State and Region headcount additions.
- Reviews and makes recommendations for approval of requisitions of capital and operating expenditures in accordance with Region/Corporate goals and needs.
- Provides financial input and recommendations for approval of requisitions of capital and operating expenditures in accordance with Region/Corporate goals and needs.
- Provides financial input and recommendations for contracts and proposals.
- Affords assistance to corporate finance and accounting staff with the development of systems and approaches that address company requirements and are responsive and sensitive to field needs.
- Assists in financial related areas during key account presentations.
- Directs and supervises Accounting Managers and Accountants, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
- Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions.
- Solves employee problems within position responsibilities.
Minimum Knowledge And Skills Required By The Job
- Education And Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field, MBA preferred; 5 - 7 years’ experience in accounting/financial management.
- Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations: CPA preferred.
Other Requirements
- Travel as needed.
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
