Business Excellence Manager

About the role

Crown Technical Systems, a Flex Company, is a leader in power distribution and protection systems, specializing in customized, turn-key solutions for relay and control panels, medium voltage switchgear, and enclosures (power/control buildings/E-Houses). The Business Excellence Manager will be based in Fontana, CA, reporting to the Director of Manufacturing. This role provides direct contribution to teams according to established policies and goals, guiding and facilitating initiatives to drive sustainable results.

Responsibilities

• Act as a change agent and drive lean and six sigma activities as defined in the GBE A3.
• Apply and deploy Flex Lean Enterprise Values across the entire organization.
• Eliminate waste and create value by reducing process variation to achieve sustainable results.
• Utilize Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) techniques to initiate process improvements, cycle time reductions, cost reductions, and eliminate non-value-added activities.
• Drive and Yokoten identified best practices based on agreed timelines.
• Create and validate processes/standards based on standard work and best practices.
• Conduct Industrial Engineering, lean, and six sigma training to accelerate the proliferation of Lean Continuous Improvement culture.
• Perform assessments of CIMT Operations/Supply Chain/Office and drive initiatives to close gaps.
• Participate in the selection and execution of lean and six sigma projects.
• For assigned special projects/segment/customer priorities, formulate and propose strategies for Lean Transformation.
• Coach and facilitate Lean Transformation activities through Kaizen workshops and Small Group Activities.
• Incentivize participation and training of Flex Employees, Suppliers, and Customers.

Requirements

• Typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
• Engineering Degree – Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Ability to guide direct projects based on business initiatives and customer needs.
• Management skills and technical experience in Finance, HR, Materials, and Operations activities.
• Demonstrates detailed expertise in complex situations and multiple areas.
• Comprehends the strategic impact of the function across sites.
