About the role
The Business Excellence Leader will be based in Austin, TX, reporting to the Manager of Business Excellence. This role drives a culture of excellence in the organization by enabling waste removal activities using Lean and Six Sigma approaches and tools, guiding actions to sustainable conclusions.
Responsibilities
- Act as a change agent and drive Lean and Six Sigma activities as defined in the GBE A3.
- Apply and deploy Flex Lean Enterprise Values across the entire organization.
- Eliminate waste and create value by reducing variation in processes to achieve sustainable results throughout the organization and segment.
- Utilize Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) techniques to initiate process improvements, cycle time reductions, cost reductions, and other activities aimed at reducing or eliminating non-value-added activities.
- Create and validate processes/standards based on standard work and best practices.
- Identify, drive, and Yokoten best practices-based Kaizen projects on agreed timelines.
- Conduct Industrial Engineering, Lean, and Six Sigma training to accelerate the proliferation of Lean culture by guiding and facilitating Continuous Improvement Lean Deployment.
- Perform assessments of Continuous Improvement Maturity Tracker (CIMT) for Operations, Supply Chain, and Office, and drive initiatives to close gaps.
- Agile participation in the selection and execution of Lean and Six Sigma projects, including continuous transformation workshops within 90 days.
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement Transformation activities through Kaizen, workshops, and Small Group Activities.
- Comprehend and use the Center Point portal as a repository to enable data research and cost-saving effectiveness.
- Achieve Industrial, Lean, and Six Sigma training and certification to become a subject matter expert in the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Industrial Engineering preferred).
- 3 or more years of industry work experience from manufacturing companies (automotive, electronics, medical device, or similar).
- Experience in capacity models, time studies, and routing.
- Solid understanding of bottlenecks and takt time.
- Continuous Improvement project management experience, including facilitation and training.
- Six Sigma Project experience (e.g., leading, training, or facilitating).
- Kaizen events facilitation.
- Ability to guide direct projects based on business initiatives and customer needs.
- Management skills and technical experience in Finance, HR, Materials, and Operations activities.
- Demonstrates detailed expertise in multiple areas and comprehends the strategic impact of the function across sites.
