Business Education Teacher

About the role

The Business Education Teacher will develop students' business academics and skills, as well as an understanding of the American business system and its place in the economy. The position aims to provide knowledge for intelligent consumption of business services, develop practical business skills, and encourage students to develop work and personal habits essential for success in business.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers business education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
• Teaches knowledge and skills in subjects such as typing, note-taking, bookkeeping, record-keeping, office procedures, business communications, data processing, or basic business principles.
• Provides instruction on the use and development of skills in the use of office equipment, technology, and business techniques.
• Counsels students on career planning and prepares them for post-secondary education and/or employment.
• Coordinates with other professional staff members and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
• Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and maintains a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree. Experience Required: Not Specified.

Qualifications

Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of business education curriculum and concepts.

Skills

Ability to teach various business subjects, use office equipment, and technology. Ability to organize and maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with students and parents.

$56,515 - $115,997 based on education and experience.
