Business Development Specialist, Data Centers
About the role
The Business Development Specialist, Data Centers, plays a crucial role in creating long-term value by building mutually beneficial relationships within the data center sector in Tier 2, 3, and Edge segments. This position involves engaging decision-makers and specifiers through various channels such as conferences, tradeshows, events, social media, and site reviews.
Responsibilities
- Represents the BSPS organization with integrity and professionalism at all times.
- Add and update key accounts and partners data & profile information within CRM (STAR).
- Use CRM (STAR) to log each interaction with all contacts and understand all past, present, and future Data Center projects.
- Develop a business plan and outline annual goals.
- Work with the marketing department to develop and implement vertical market-specific collateral and event planning, including dinners, sponsorships, and other requests as necessary.
- Collaborate and communicate with the sales team to develop and maintain key account and partner relationships.
- Attend industry-related tradeshows and conferences, as well as partnership summits and open houses, and interact with executive-level decision makers.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred or relevant industry experience.
- Experience: Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), experience with CRM software, proven customer development skills with C-Suite experience preferred, strong and previously demonstrated presentation skills, 2+ years of successful BSPS outside sales experience or other industry-related successful outside sales experience and proven results to achieve/exceed targets, experience selling in a matrix organization and navigating through the executive levels of large multi-level customers, knowledge of working with architects, engineers, general contractors, owners, and other specifiers as needed.
- Other: Travel required (up to 50%).
