Business Development Specialist - Boston
About the role
Jensen Hughes is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our Fire and Life Safety team in the Boston Region on a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities
- Solicit new clients and build rapport
- Follow up on leads and opportunities
- Communicate clearly and detail the services offered
- Collaborate with technical colleagues to prepare proposals and qualifications
- Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate with technical colleagues
- Create and maintain relationships with existing clients, supporting renewal of services and identifying value-added opportunities
- Support the Business Development and Operations teams with understanding the current pipeline and moving proposals through the pipeline
- Maintain sales data of current and potential clients, pipeline, orders, and contracts up for renewal
- Explain the value of our services and how they meet the prospect/existing client’s needs
- Engage operations and subject matter experts to support business development
- Stay informed about industry trends and updates, and identify risks within existing clients
- Proactively plan and support annual growth initiatives
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, and/or two (2) plus years’ experience as an Inside Sales Representative
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
- Experience with government contract tracking systems such as GovWin, Deltek, or similar platforms preferred
- Experience working for a professional services firm preferred
- General knowledge and confidence using computer databases and menu-driven reports
- Self-starter who works well independently and is self-motivated, with a bias for action
- Project coordination and organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative to follow through
- Consistently perform at a high level in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
- Able to look at things multidimensionally and able to come to a unique and innovative plan or solution if a problem is identified
