Business Development Specialist
Role Description
As a Business Development Specialist, you are the tip of the spear for BayPointe Technology’s growth. This role is responsible for transforming cold prospects into warm, qualified opportunities by introducing organizations to BayPointe’s people, expertise, and consultative approach to IT.
Under the direction of the Director of Sales & Business Development, you will focus exclusively on top-of funnel activity such as researching, prospecting, and engaging new organizations through every possible outbound channel. Your primary objective is not to sell a product, but to spark meaningful conversations that lead to introductory meetings between qualified prospects and BayPointe Account Executives.
A successful Business Development Specialist is confident, curious, and resilient—comfortable initiating conversations with business leaders, asking thoughtful questions, and articulating BayPointe’s value as a trusted IT partner. This role requires persistence, emotional intelligence, and the ability to earn trust quickly in short interactions.
Qualifications
- Must be within commutable distance from Medina, OH 44256
- 3 years of experience in sales, business development, customer service, or outbound prospecting
- Comfortable with cold prospecting and initiating conversations with new contacts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Naturally curious with the ability to ask smart, thoughtful questions
- Resilient, internally motivated, and comfortable with rejection
- Coachable and open to feedback and continuous improvement
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Able to use CRM systems and sales tools to track activity and results
Pay
The estimated on target earnings range for this role is listed below. On target earnings for this role is a combination of base salary, commission, incentives and benefits. This role qualifies for uncapped commission. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. OTE: $60,000 - $80,000
