Job Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDR) at Algolia plays a crucial role in prospecting and expanding business opportunities across the Sales teams. This role involves responding to inbound requests, qualifying prospects, and proactively reaching out to target accounts using an account-based approach.
Responsibilities
- Qualify inbound leads via meetings, email, and chatbots from the Target Account List, collaborating with Account Executives to understand prospects' projects.
- Build and maintain a quality, qualified pipeline in targeted accounts.
- Work closely with Account Executives and Sales teams to research and strategize on how to approach targeted accounts.
- Identify key contacts at target accounts and develop personalized approaches based on building strong, long-lasting relationships.
- Execute appropriate outbound strategies by creating relevant content such as case studies, emails, screencasts, and presentations to engage prospects.
- Collaborate with Managers and Account Executives to prioritize time and efforts to maximize pipeline generation and account engagement.
- Participate actively in the team(s), sharing best practices, and participating in team meetings.
- Use Salesforce to manage, track, and report sales activities and results.
- Track the buying journey of allocated accounts and respond accordingly based on the stage in the journey with appropriate outreach and cold calling.
- Work closely with Marketing teams and other cross-functional teams to ensure accounts and inbound inquiries are followed up appropriately, aligned to company messaging, and in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Support ABM and demand generation teams targeting key strategic accounts, working closely on messaging, personalization, themes, and inviting prospects to events/dinners.
- Attend and contribute to meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience in lead generation and sales (SaaS experience preferred, but not required).
- Highly motivated with a competitive edge.
- Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to change.
- A keen interest in the tech industry.
- A track record of achieving and exceeding individual quotas (professional or personal).
- Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
- The ability to think clearly under pressure and manage the demands of Algolia, the company leadership, their Account Executives, and the allocated accounts.
