Business Development Representative
Citizen Media Group is an IRS-registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that houses two distinct public-facing entities: The Philadelphia Citizen and Philadelphia Magazine. Administrative, editorial, and other business functions are shared across these brands.
About the role
The Philadelphia Citizen — a producer of digital content, thought-leader events, and civic engagement opportunities — exists to reinvigorate democracy in the American city where it was born and to replicate the highest ideals of Aristotle’s polis: autonomy, self-governance, equality, tolerance, independence in our products and in our very DNA as an organization.
Responsibilities
The Philadelphia Citizen seeks individuals who can contribute to the mission of reinvigorating democracy through innovative storytelling and community engagement. This role will involve:
- Developing and executing content strategies that engage diverse audiences
- Collaborating with journalists and editors to produce high-quality digital content
- Organizing and facilitating community events that foster civic dialogue
- Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:
- A strong background in journalism or related field
- Experience in digital content production and community engagement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in digital content creation tools

Pay
Salary range: $40,000 - $60,000 annually
