Non-remote position in Deer Park
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. May also require early mornings, evenings, or occasional Saturdays due to special events.
Responsibilities
- Consistently meet all Shell FCU Service Commitments, the Shell FCU Employee Creed, and Shell FCU Service Distinctions.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable rules and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Attend annual training sessions as instructed or scheduled.
- Perform job duties in compliance with Shell FCU policies, procedures, philosophy, and standards of performance.
- Build effective relationships and trust with local businesses, members, and potential members by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about credit union philosophy and products.
- Attend and network at Chamber Events (ribbon cuttings, mixers, committees, etc.) to gain credit union exposure and develop potential profitable business relationships.
- Proactively seek information from members and prospective members to understand changing situations, needs, and desired benefits, and evaluate product or service alternatives.
- Apply newly gained knowledge, skills, or techniques to current work and share successes with other team members.
- Keep updated on changes to the credit union industry environment, competition, and customers’ business environment.
- Support marketing campaigns and product launches; modify sales techniques to achieve sales results.
- Assist assigned branches in meeting their monthly goals.
- Facilitate seminars upon request of the Marketing Manager.
- Conduct effective networking, outreach strategies, community events, and on-site visits to gain new credit union business and brand awareness.
- Work with other business units in developing referral sources for potential new members and upselling to current members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three to five years of business development or sales experience.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Knowledge of credit union products and services.
- Professional verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interview effectively and use various interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of a product or service.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
- Effective sales ability and persuasiveness.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally.
- Ability to work in an open-concept workspace/environment.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to bend and stand.
- May at times lift, carry, and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Working Conditions
Exposure to potential hazardous conditions (e.g., robbery). Employees receive detailed instructions and procedures to minimize risk.
