Overview

The Business Development Officer is responsible for growing MCU's membership through employer-based relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth through targeted outreach and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Confidently articulate features and benefits to sell consumer accounts, financial services, and loans, including home equity products
• Research new business opportunities through networking and cold calling
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with Select Employee Groups (SEGs) to understand their needs and promote our products and services
• Create and deliver presentations to SEGs showcasing products and services
• Analyze market trends and competition
• Collaborate with the marketing team to devise strategies for membership growth
• Achieve and surpass goals for Community Engagement and Member Engagement
• Provide premier service to all members and SEGs
• Attend networking events that help build new relationships with decision makers in the Metro NY area
• Utilize effective sales management tactics to leverage relationships and drive sales results that aid in annual scorecard achievement
• Identify cross-selling opportunities, including call efforts to cross sell additional products and services to members
• Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in business development, sales, or a related field
• Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build and maintain relationships
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings
• Strong presentation skills
• Technologically proficient

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is between $66,300-100,800 annually. Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus, 401(k) with an 6% employer match per pay period. Benefits include Medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance, flexible paid time off, and 11 paid holidays annually.
