About the role
Do you love building relationships and winning new business? AFC Transport is hiring an Account Manager to grow revenue through both brokerage and asset-based transportation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Possess and prospect for new shipper accounts
- Manage and grow a book of business by expanding lanes, volume, and retention
- Sell the right mix of brokerage and asset-based solutions based on customer needs
- Own the sales process: discovery, solution-building, pricing, proposals, negotiation, close
- Act as the primary customer contact, providing proactive communication and issue resolution
- Partner with Operations/Dispatch to execute freight, align expectations, and ensure smooth onboarding
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline updates, and forecasts
- Use AFC tools (McLeod TMS, Google tools, customer portals) to stay efficient
Requirements
- 3+ years in freight brokerage/logistics (sales and/or account management)
- Proven ability to hunt (new business) and farm (grow/retain accounts)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer management skills
- Strong organization and pipeline discipline; able to manage multiple opportunities at once
- Ownership mindset, calm under pressure, solutions-focused
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling into mid-market to enterprise shippers
- Existing shipper relationships
- Strong collaboration with operations teams to drive service execution and retention
Pay
Base salary starting at $60,000/year + commissions
