About the role

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for providing industry-leading service for large industrial motors, generators, and turbines to customers worldwide. This includes responsibility for growing the motor, generator, and controls portion of WEG Engineered Services and Aftermarket Business; cultivating and building relationships with customers across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on aftermarket business development and sales activities for WEG and non-WEG products, including parts, services, repairs, brush-to-brushless conversions, and engineering services.
  • Develop close working relationships with users (and, where necessary, distributors) within various industry segments such as Oil & Gas, Power, Pulp & Paper, Mining / Aggregates, and Steel.
  • Develop close working relationships with WEG factory and WEG partners.
  • Generate order-capture activities to support bookings and sales growth from existing customers and cultivate new customers.
  • Develop sales and call strategies to increase exposure at users and distributors.
  • Lead and take ownership of projects, requesting feedback from customers.
  • Identify project/customer details crucial for determining quotation strategy.
  • Create accurate quotations for WEG's offerings.
  • Partner with WEG entities and service partners to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop industry experience through attending conferences, reading periodicals, conducting internet research, and site visits, reporting activities quarterly to management.
  • Mentor and train junior team members.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 100%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or 2+ years of general industrial inside sales experience.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to customer requests promptly.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and activities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with both internal and external customers.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to work with Inside Service Sales Support and customers.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, adaptable, and a team player.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel freely within manufacturing and office facilities.
  • Ability to climb stairs and move around machinery.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds without assistance.

Pay

The salary range for this position is from $115,000 to $125,000, with compensation based on experience. The company does not sponsor employment visas for this position.
